Dr. Ashley Fegan-Earl BSc(Hons), MB, BS, DMJ(Path), FRCPATH, MFFLM
Independent Forensic Pathologist since 1997
Dr Fegan-Earl holds the degrees of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. In addition, he holds the Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence in Pathology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and a Foundation Member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of London. He is also a Fellow of the British Association of Forensic Medicine and a member of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences.
Dr Fegan-Earl has been involved in the study and practise of forensic pathology since 1997 and was admitted to the Home Office Register of Accredited Forensic Pathologists in 2002.
He performs post mortem examinations on behalf of a large number of constabularies and police services in the south east of England including the Metropolitan Police Service. He also performs routine post mortem examinations on behalf of Her Majesty’s Coroners in London and Berkshire. In addition to which, he is regularly engaged by solicitors acting on behalf of the defence.
Ashley provides opinions in a range of non-fatal cases on third party injury and is involved in the training of forensic pathologists.
He has lectured widely including to the Criminal Bar Association, Thames Valley Police, Surrey Police, Sussex Police and the Metropolitan Police Service. He is regularly involved with the latter in the delivery of the Advanced Exhibits Officer course and also in the Senior Investigating Officer course.
Dr Fegan-Earl participates in the continuing professional development scheme organised by the Royal College of Pathologists and performs audits in accordance with the requirements of the General Medical Council’s publication Good Medical Practice 2006.
