Dr Martin Goddard. MB BCh, FRCS (Eng), MRCPath, FRCPath

Forensic Histopathologist since 1994

 

Dr Martin Goddard was appointed as a Consultant Histopathologist in 1996 and provides a full range of diagnostic cardio thoracic pathology. Martin is the clinical lead for cardiac pathology including cardiac transplantation. He is a member and the current Secretary of the National Cardiac Pathology Network having been the Chairman from 2012 to 2016. Martin is also the Specialist Adviser to the Royal College of Pathologists on cardiac pathology.

 

Martin’s medico-legal work relating to cardiac pathology is extensive and he regularly undertakes autopsies on referred hearts from cases of Sudden Adult Death and for other expert cardiac pathology opinions.

 

Martin’s major research interests are in the field of cardio vascular disease and cardiac transplantation in particular coronary artery vasculopathy. His other specialist clinical interests include Sudden Adult Death and Radiology/Pathology Correlations.
