Forensic Pathologist since 1993
Dr Simon Poole hold the degrees of Bachelor of Science (First-class Honours), Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and the Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence in Pathology.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists. Dr Poole was admitted to the Home Office Register of forensic pathologists in 2007. Prior to that he practised general histopathology for fourteen years, and performed coronial autopsies during that period.
A member of the Greater London & South East Group Practice, Simon holds dual specialist registration with the Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board.
Dr Simon Poole offers opinions, at the request of counsel (defence and prosecution) in cases of fatal and non-fatal injury.
He also participates in the continuing professional development scheme organised by the Royal College of Pathologists.
Dr Poole is a fellow of the British Association in Forensic Medicine, and a foundation member of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians of London. He has co-authored publications on experimental, diagnostic and forensic pathology.
Simon regularly gives expert witness evidence in various courts (Crown, Coroner’s and Magistrate’s).
